After studying local and internet auto sales,the starter I bought here is just as tough and half the price.Installed it,finally,after trying different size ratchets,sockets,extensions,etc. patience to save on labor costs. Cranked right up with better sounding power. 2000 Lincoln Town Car,right before starter failed,it was making a clatter noise, like a rock was in hubcap,when taking off until it reached 30 or 40 mph then stopped.But it would also make same noise at a stop and in park at times.Few days ago it wouldn't turn over and had plenty of volts in battery. So,checked,cleaned and reinstalled fuses with diode grease,all were o.k. but needed it anyway.Had nephew turn key over and hold it while I hit starter with hammer,cranked on 3rd or 4th hit,2 different times. Got starter at great price and free shipping,plus a discount to boot! Starting as it should,maybe quicker. Drove it yesterday and never heard the clattering noise,hopefully won't ever. If it stops for good,I'm no mechanic,but thinking maybe it was teeth from starter not disengaging,25 yrs. old and definitely needed replacing. Fingers crossed. This company gives alot more detail on all parts too. Have been recommending to family and friends for sure
