Swapping apart
The support to get a part swapped was outstanding. Unfortunately it took two days after I sent confirmation that the part is being sent back by UPS before my part got on its way. It cost me much more than the value of the part. I was asking for expedited shipping, unavailable. I really have to consider auto sources before doing more business with a premium. It is a shame. These lifters were genuinely great. I don’t leave reviews often but I figured if anyone is having a hard time finding quality lifters after one of theirs collapsed I hope this helps. I replaced all 16 lifters and their trays. Started up the truck and driven 1200 miles and my truck sounds better now then before.
Four disclaimers
1. Lifter tick on startup is normal and should fade after 20 minutes once oil primes it.
2. If your doing lifter replacement because of a collapsed lifter, check your Valve Lifter Oil Manifold (VLOM) for loose bolts or just change it out completely like a normal part.
3. Check cam shaft for getting eaten by the lifter by looking down the hole where the lifter sat in.
4. Orientation of the holes on the collapsible lifters matter and make sure to match it, the non Afm lifters I think are made to work either way you put it in but don’t quote me on that.
