There is no set of holes in the guide slots for the spring clip to anchor to on the ear of the brake pad. Only ONE hole exists. Make sure the spring clip is clear of the brake rotor. Turn the wheel outwards and place car in neutral ( once the car is chocked and e brake is on) then rotate wheel to make sure there's no grinding of the spring clip by the edge of the rotor
